Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced clinical team. You will support patient prep, triage, EMR documentation, and routine procedures while upholding compassionate care and safety standards.

This full-time role offers a 3-day/12-hour shift schedule (8 AM–8 PM), competitive benefits, PTO, and opportunities for professional growth, including certification reimbursement. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate)
• Current CMA or RMA certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in urgent care/ER/hospital
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and general clinical procedures
• Experience using EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
• Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Team player with a positive, proactive approach to patient care

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring comfort and information
• Perform triage and take vital signs accurately
• Document detailed patient history in EMR in a timely manner
• Collect routine laboratory specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs)
• Administer medications and non-intravenous injections
• Assist with clinical and laboratory procedures including splinting and suturing as needed
• Support Occupational Medicine services such as drug screening and audiograms
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance and maintain regulatory standards
• Travel to other Corewell Health Urgent Care locations to support staffing needs
