Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for the FHP OB/GYN practice in Lancaster, OH. You will assist with patient prep for exams, administer medications within scope, help with procedures, and support overall patient communication.

Key duties include taking vital signs, in-office testing, minor procedures, EMR data entry, referrals and authorizations, and maintaining supplies and patient files.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Current AAMA certification or exam eligibility.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately takes vital signs and administers injections as directed.
• Performs in-office testing as requested by provider.
• Assists with minor surgical procedures, wound care and dressing, and sterilization of instruments.
• Handles pharmacy-related requests/issues.
• Collects and inputs patient information into the EMR using correct medical terminology.
• Completes referrals, pre-certifications, and prior-authorizations.
• Monitors and orders supplies and medications.
• Maintains patient files.
• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining certification.

Education

Medical Assistant certification (required or within 12 months of hire)

AAMA certification or eligibility

STNA preferred

Phlebotomy certification preferred

Previous medical office experience preferred

Job Description:

Under the direction of the office provider or licensed nurse of Fairfield Healthcare Professionals, the Medical Assistant will assist with preparing patients for exams, administering medications within the medical assistant scope of practice, assisting with procedures, and facilitating general communication with patients.

• Responsible for financial cost related to obtaining certification and renewing of certification.
• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining certification.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. STNA preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification required or obtained within 12months of hire.
• Current AAMA certification or current AAMA exam eligibility.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
