Job summary

Talentify in Reston, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, staff, and patients in a fast-paced office. You will welcome patients, prepare exam rooms, take vitals, document in EMR, assist with minor procedures, and coordinate lab work.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, medical assistant program or 1+ year experience; CMA/RMA certification preferred; strong communication and teamwork; ability to travel between local office locations; proficiency in Microsoft 365;

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
