UPMC Baron Family Practice - Medical Assistant

UPMC Baron Family Practice is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team! This role involves assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks to ensure patient satisfaction.

Schedule: M 8:30am-5pm, Tu 10:30am-7pm, Wed 7:15am-3:45pm, Th 7:30am-5pm, Fri 7:30am-5pm.

Salary Range: $18.12 - $27.76 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

1. Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation.
2. Collect patient information, vital signs, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.
3. Relay instructions to patients and families.
4. Handle medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
5. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
6. Complete necessary forms and requisitions.
7. Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and update demographics.
8. Prepare exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.
9. Manage inventory of supplies.
10. Coordinate patient flow and answer calls, providing patient education as needed.
11. Perform clinic procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and assisting with physician procedures.
12. Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and state health regulations, maintaining confidentiality.
13. Administer injectable medications and vaccines under supervision.
14. Perform other front office and clinical duties as assigned.
