Job description

100% FTE, day shift. No weekends required. This position is located at the Verona Clinic.

Pay: UW Health offers a competitive compensation package. Work experience relevant to the position will be considered when determining the starting base pay. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 (pro-rated based on FTE/Hours).

We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to:

  • Work with Family Medicine providers diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, gynecological care, and urgent care.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-family centered care.
  • Prepare patients for exams, record vital signs, document complaints, medications, allergies, perform EKGs, and administer medications and treatments.

UW Health offers continuing education for Medical Assistants, including AAMA-approved CEUs, Elsevier Skill Packages, and free weekend webinars (twice a year).

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or licensure as an LPN or completion of the UW Health Medical Assistant Apprenticeship, or completion of CCMA as a UW Health employee, or
  • Two years of recent Medical Assistant experience and current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification in lieu of the above.

Work Experience:

Preferred: One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, or eligible for certification. Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • If not holding a Medical Assistant or LPN qualification, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
