Responsibilities

  • Assist junior Medical Assistants and support onboarding.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and collect vital signs.
  • Explain treatments and prepare educational materials.
  • Perform general office duties and coordinate with departments.
  • Collect and prepare specimens; conduct phlebotomy if qualified.
  • Maintain immunization inventory and vaccine expiration dates.
  • Provide immunizations as certified or under supervision.
  • Improve departmental quality initiatives.

Our multi-specialty group practices offer a broad range of medical sub-specialties.

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support our Family Medicine suite onsite Monday- Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.

This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team of four Medical Assistants, where you’ll build a strong partnership with your assigned provider while also having the support of a collaborative team. You’ll work closely with your teammates, share knowledge, and provide cross-coverage when needed, creating a supportive environment where everyone works together to deliver excellent patient care.

Summary The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

Essential Functions
  • -Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training.
  • -Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient's medical record.
  • -Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education.
  • -Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach.
  • -Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated.
  • -Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
  • -Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider.
  • -Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
