Responsibilities

• Secure and manage externship sites for Medical Assistant students, ensuring placement variety.
• Achieve and maintain a minimum 40% extern-to-hire conversion rate across sites.
• Conduct site visits to monitor student performance and maintain partner relationships.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including TWC regulations.
• Collaborate with Career Services and Placement teams to support student transitions to employment.
• Provide guidance to students on attendance, professionalism, and performance during externships.
• Conduct externship orientations and assist with resume writing and interview prep.
• Maintain documentation such as timecards, evaluations, and affiliation agreements.
• Track student progress and complete final evaluations and exit interviews.
• Promote the externship program through outreach within the medical community.
