Job summary

Bronson Healthcare in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Diabetes & Endocrinology Center. You will support providers with nursing functions, take vital signs, assist with exams, and educate patients on treatments and medications.

Responsibilities include chart documentation, EMR data entry, and collaboration with physicians and staff. BLS within 90 days and CMA/RMA certification eligibility within 6 months are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire/transfer is required.
• Experience with patient assessment, vital signs and documentation.
• Familiarity with EMR data entry and charting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to protect patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing functions under provider’s direction.
• Record vital signs, immunizations, and initial patient histories.
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments and care.
• Document pertinent information in patient charts and maintain confidentiality.
• Input and retrieve data from EMR and assist with procedures.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with scheduling and coordination.
