Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Hand & Elbow Surgery in Battle Creek. You will perform clinical tasks under a provider's direction, record vital signs, and assist with patient education and documentation in the EMR system.

Requirements include CMA/CCMA/RMA or program completion, BLS within 90 days, and strong communication with patients and staff. This role emphasizes confidentiality and teamwork in a busy surgical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Complete an accredited medical assistant program or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification; eligibility to CMA/RMA within 6 months.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• EMR experience is highly desirable; input and retrieve data in EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations, record vital signs and histories.
• Administer treatments and collect specimens for tests as directed.
• Document information in patient charts and ensure chart accuracy and privacy.
• Schedule tests, coordinate admissions and referrals with departments.
• Maintain inventory and stock exam rooms; assist with supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform EMR data entry.
