Job summary

NYU Langone Health in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood is seeking a Medical Assistant (FGP) to support physicians, nurses, and APPs. You will validate patient identifiers, prepare rooms, take vital signs, collect blood samples, and perform data entry in EPIC, contributing to efficient patient care.

The role blends clinical and administrative duties, including scheduling, managing patient calls, and ensuring privacy and HIPAA compliance while delivering a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Certification from AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA preferred or to be obtained on hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for visits.
• Measure and record vital signs; draw blood as needed per policy.
• Maintain and document in EMR/EPIC; ensure accuracy of patient records.
• Support patient flow, scheduling, and communications with providers and staff.
• Handle inbasket messages and telephone calls; coordinate referrals as needed.
• Maintain infection control standards and room readiness between patients.
