Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (FGP) for our Manhattan Internal Medicine team. The successful candidate will support physicians, nurses and Advanced Practice Providers in delivering patient care, including vital signs, blood draws, specimen collection, and data entry into the EMR.

The role combines clinical and administrative tasks, with responsibilities spanning patient preparation, room readiness, and coordination of appointments, while adhering to NYU Langone Health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program; or certification upon hire.
• Working knowledge of English and strong verbal/written communication; computer skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment; strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare rooms.
• Measure vital signs and collect specimens per protocol.
• Obtain and process blood samples and perform point-of-care tests.
• Enter data and manage in EMR; support administrative tasks such as scheduling and phone coverage.
• Assist with prescription refills, referrals, and patient intake documentation.
• Maintain infection control standards and clean/stock exam rooms.
