Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Medical Assistant in Worcester, MA to provide front-line patient support and clinical assistance. You will perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and assist with routine exams, while documenting patient status in the EMR and coordinating with licensed clinicians.

The role requires BLS certification and a Massachusetts-approved Medical Assistant credential, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in EKGs, phlebotomy and point-of-care tests.
• Experience documenting patient health status and updating medical records.
• Ability to process prescriptions and maintain clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Collect and document patient health status and history and monitor progress.
• Review laboratory results and elevate abnormal findings to physicians.
• Assist with routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Maintain clinical supplies, inventories, stock rotation, and requisitions.
• Enter and retrieve information from the electronic medical record system.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations and referrals.
• Process patient co-payments and maintain records.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and attendance requirements.
