Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare seeks a Medical Assistant for the Diabetes & Endocrinology Department in downtown Minneapolis. The role supports physicians and care teams by performing clinical tasks, collecting specimens, and assisting with examinations.

The ideal candidate has a medical assisting credential (or equivalent) and is certified or eligible for certification within 13 months. Proficiency with EPIC and Office tools is preferred, with strong patient communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in an accredited Medical Assistant program including clinical externship or equivalent.
• Credentialed or Registered through AAMA, AMT, or NHA within 13 months of employment.
• BLS for Health Care Providers required within first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, injections, immunizations, spirometry, tympanometry, and other duties within MA scope.
• Assist physicians and licensed staff during examinations and procedures.
• Perform specimen collection (blood, urine, sputum).
• Conduct hearing/vision screens and developmental testing.
• Enter patient data into the medical record; support rooming process.
• Assist with basic patient care and vital signs; other duties as assigned.
