The role of the Medical Assistant involves providing care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices. The Medical Assistant coordinates with the care team to ensure seamless care delivery, active patient participation, and assists physicians or other providers with clinical procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate clinical competence in patient care and assist MDs with procedures.
  2. Perform clinical duties within scope, adhering to department standards, policies, and protocols.
  3. Proactively address patient and family needs, communicating effectively and timely.
  4. Assist during exams and diagnostic procedures, demonstrating clinical competence.
  5. Perform authorized procedures such as vital signs, vision screening, and laboratory tests.
  6. Prepare e-prescriptions for pharmacies as directed by the physician.
  7. Inspect, clean, and prepare instruments/equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  8. Process specimens for laboratory transport, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year (training and exam provided and paid for in-house).
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with recent experience.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.

The hourly pay range is $16.00 to $24.42, based on full-time employment and factors such as location, education, experience, and certifications. Benefits include a comprehensive package, recognition programs, stock purchase options, and 401(k). Benefits are subject to eligibility.
