Overview

Location:Quincy, ILPay Range:$16.12 - $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant ExperienceSchedule:Full-time, Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some variability based on departmental needs)

About the Role:

As a Medical Assistant at Quincy Medical Group, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional healthcare services within our Mohs Dermatology team. This position involves assisting with Mohs micrographic surgery, a specialized technique for treating skin cancer. You will work closely with the Mohs surgeon and clinical team to ensure efficient procedures and excellent patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to examination rooms, prepare them for Mohs surgical procedures, and accurately record vital signs and patient information.
  • Assist the provider with Mohs surgery, biopsies, injections, and other dermatologic procedures.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative wound care instructions, including dressing changes and suture removals.
  • Maintain a sterile environment, prepare surgical instruments, and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Coordinate follow-up care and pathology results with patients.
  • Schedule ancillary tests and procedures as directed and communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office, procedure rooms, and medical equipment.
  • Serve as a patient coach, offering support and reassurance throughout their surgical experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification required (available upon hire).
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience as a CNA, PCA, or MA is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn Mohs dermatology procedures and expand dermatology knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and comfort working in a surgical setting.
