Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Medical Assistant Certification required (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials acceptable).
• Graduates within 12 months must obtain certification within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates with one year of MA experience without certification must obtain certification within a year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer calls and screen for referrals.
