Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Regular Medical Assistant for the Smizer Mill IM in Fenton, MO. The role supports examination and treatment under the direction of a nurse or provider, with a standard day shift and no weekend obligations.

Responsibilities include patient interviews, vitals, charting, basic clerical tasks, supplies management, and documentation of encounters and orders as directed by the supervising clinician.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Wisconsin ONLY - High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience, and graduate from medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.

Education
