Job summary

BJC Medical Group, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant in Alton, Illinois. This MA will support physicians with patient care, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, EKGs and injections, and follow practice protocols.

The position offers a 40-hour workweek, day shifts, and benefits eligibility with no on-call, weekends, or holidays. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and CMA certification; CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• MA role providing patient care under physician supervision.
• Candidate should perform essential procedures per protocol.
• Must meet minimum education and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs and patient history; documents accurately.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, tests and injections as directed.
• Triage calls and communicates results with provider using proper terminology.
• Assist provider by preparing patients for exams and procedures.
