Job summary

Commonwealth Specialists of Kentucky, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time day shift (Monday–Friday). You will prepare patients, set up exam rooms, assist with injections, and support minor procedures in a busy clinic.

Requirements include 1 year of medical assisting, a high school diploma or GED, and certification within 60 days of employment if recently graduated, or within one year if not certified. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical patient care experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE) or within 60 days of employment if recently graduated.
• If no certification, must obtain within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms with instruments and sterilize as needed.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer phone calls and screen referrals for the practice.
