The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Sutherland Rehab Institute days team. This full-time role focuses on patient flow, exam preparation, basic procedures, and accurate record keeping.

You will assist physicians and nurses, schedule tests, document patient histories, submit prescriptions, maintain rooms and inventory, and perform vital signs. Strong customer service and compliance with BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Completion of CCMA/NCRMA certification is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Schedule tests and obtain films/reports; prepare laboratory specimens.
• Assist physicians and/or nurses with procedures as defined on competency checklist.
• Collaborate with health care team to coordinate patient care and record patient history elements.
• Submit prescriptions/refills to outpatient pharmacies.
• Ensure data for completed procedures is recorded in medical records.
• Maintain orderly exam rooms and stock supplies; manage logs and equipment checks.
• Greet patients, register, schedule, pre-certify tests and processing insurance forms.
• Perform vital signs, height/weight, and screening procedures.
• Perform simple procedures as directed by nursing/medical staff.
• Understand and perform the professional, clinical and technical competencies of the unit.
