Valley Health Physician Alliance in Las Vegas is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our full-time team. You will support physicians with a wide range of patient care duties and documentation in the EMR, ensuring smooth appointment flow and clinic operations.

The role requires completing an accredited Medical Assistant Program, current BLS/CPR certification, and strong familiarity with medical terminology; prior clinic experience is a plus, with day shifts and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year MA experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (clinic protocol).
• General medical office procedures.
• End of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process.

Responsabilités

• Participates in decision-making and process improvement.
• Ensures patient rooms, nursing station and storage rooms are stocked and clean; manages product expiration dates; keeps equipment clean according to infection prevention standards.
• Distribute referrals to physicians and insurance companies; document referrals in patient charts.
• Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests as necessary.
• Phone/faxing patient prescriptions as necessary.
• Schedules diagnostic imaging studies and other appointments; completes appropriate paperwork.
• Accurately performs clinical duties including triaging patients, checking vitals, administering injections and venipunctures, and prep for physician exam.
