Job summary

UF Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. is seeking a professional multi-skilled person to assist in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.

Take patient's vital signs, prepare patients for the provider's care, and assist with patient examinations or treatments. Duties also include correctly documenting all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, signature with date and time.

Qualifications

• 1-year - Medical assistant – preferred
• 2–4 years clerical/customer service experience, ideally in a health care related industry - preferred
• 1-year experience with third party payors, and computer experience for imputing data and reviewing - preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician

• Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
• Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers

Experience Requirements

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required - or within 6 months
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required - at time of hire-American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred - at time of hire

Education Requirements

High School Diploma / GED Required at time of hire

Additional Details

May travel to other clinics under additional duties

A requirement of having completed an MA program that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or an agency approved by the board
