Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care in Macomb, MI seeks full-time Medical Assistants or EMTs for our clinic at 15959 Hall Rd Suite 104. The role requires MA/EMT training and certification, with a floating 8am–8pm schedule, three shifts weekly, and rotating weekends/holidays. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Responsibilities include triage, vital signs, EMR documentation, lab specimen collection, injections, and general admin duties while adhering to HIPAA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Completed MA or EMT program from an accredited institution.
• Possess a valid MA, CMA, RMA or EMT certification.
• Two years of healthcare experience; urgent care or emergency department.
• Willing to train new graduates.
• Proficient in injections.
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, anatomy, and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist with treatment.
• Perform triage and obtain vital signs.
• Document patient history in EMR accurately and timely.
• Collect and maintain patient and business documents with confidentiality.
• Collect routine lab specimens (phlebotomy, urinalysis, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections (IM, subcutaneous, intradermal).
• Perform splinting when directed and other clinical procedures.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance and assist with regulatory requirements.
• Travel to various locations as needed based on staffing and volume.

Job description

We are looking for full time, talented and compassionate Medical Assistants or EMT for our clinic located at 15959 Hall Rd Suite 104, Macomb, MI 48044.

*This position requires successful completion of a Medical Assistant or EMT-A education from an accredited institution*

Scheduling is tentative 8am - 8pm, 3 shifts/week for full time on a floating schedule. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Schedules published on a monthly basis.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Prepare patient(s) for and assist with examination and/or treatment
• Perform triage and obtain vital signs
• Obtain and timely and accurately document patient history in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while always maintaining confidentiality
• Collect routine laboratory specimens including phlebotomy, urinalysis and/or oral swabs
• Administer medications and non-intravenous injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous and/or intradermal)
• Perform splinting when needed/directed
• Perform various other clinical, aseptic and/or basic laboratory procedures
• Document within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions timely and accurately
• Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements
• Responsible for quality assurance program for compliance with CLIA waived laboratory and patient result trackers
• Always ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
• Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties; ability to operate all office medical equipment
• Required to travel to various locations as needed based on staffing and volume
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of a MA or EMT program from an accredited institution or
• Posses a valid MA, CMA, RMA or EMT Certification or
• Two years of relevant healthcare experience; urgent care or emergency department
• Willing to train new, stellar graduates
• Must be proficient in injections
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology
