Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA is seeking a capable Medical Assistant to provide patient care and support within an outpatient setting. The MA will perform routine and complex duties, including vital signs, medication administration per policy, specimen collection, and room maintenance.

The role requires CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification, current BLS, and a high school diploma or GED. One year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current AHA BLS certification is required for hire.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care and observation under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
• Performs routine and complex MA duties including taking vital signs, administering a limited medication profile, simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, and maintaining exam rooms.
• Promotes a supportive and healing environment to enhance patient and staff satisfaction.
• Assists in emergencies as directed by a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
• May assist with patient check-in/out, responding to requests, and education reinforcement; maintains charts with confidentiality.
• Orders, verifies, and stores unit supplies; ensures universal precautions and safety standards.
