Job summary

LMH Health in Kansas seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and healthcare teams by performing administrative and clinical tasks while preserving patient confidentiality.

Qualifications include completion or enrollment in a Medical Assistant program or Kansas CNA, BLS at hire, and strong communication with patients. This role contributes to a high-quality care environment through efficient workflow and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Must have current or previous Kansas CNA, or be enrolled/completed Medical Assistant program, or active Kansas EMT, or nursing student who completed first semester.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• Preferred: MA certification/registration.

Responsibilities

• Update and file patient records; complete insurance forms as needed.
• Take medical histories and vital signs; document in EMR.
• Explain procedures to patients; prepare for examination with privacy.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; sterilize instruments.
• Assist with wound/cast care as needed.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with hospitals/labs.
• Provide patient teaching on procedures, tests, medications.
• Maintain smooth clinic flow and assist with callbacks for timely care.
• Authorize refills and manage telephone prescriptions when certified.
• Ensure examination rooms are clean and stocked.
