Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, offers a 6-month full-time co‑op internship at 40 hours per week starting January 4, 2027. The role supports patient flow, clinical assistance, EMR updates, patient engagement, and team operations across multiple care settings in eastern Massachusetts.

Requirements include pursuing a bachelor's degree for the full duration, strong computer and data-entry skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's degree for the full duration of the co-op internship.
• Ability to use computer systems and perform keyboard-based data entry; proficient with MS Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Strong communication with patients, providers, pharmacies, healthcare staff.
• Solid interpersonal, customer service, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates efficient patient movement, greets and escorts patients, and keeps them informed.
• Supports clinicians with procedures, tests, and exam prep; performs point-of-care testing.
• Updates EMR with vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and reconciles prescriptions.
• Assists with MyHealth Online enrollment, handles scheduling and referrals, and manages messages.
• Participates in improvement initiatives, orients new staff, provides backup coverage, may handle medical secretary duties.
