Job description

Medical Assistant - Co-Op-Behavior and Development Admin (Finance)

Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) through our Co-Op partnership to work in Wilmington, DE.

This position is for a part-time MA through our Co-Op partnership.

Essential Functions:

The MA acts as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and care team members. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, assisting with clinical data collection, performing clinical procedures, and supporting outpatient business processes.

  • Greet patients and families according to Nemours Standards of Behavior.
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies.
  • Assist with clinical duties such as obtaining vital signs, documenting visit reasons, performing phlebotomy, and administering vaccines.
  • Support front desk functions including confirming appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and scheduling follow-ups.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and patients regarding wait times and appointment status.
  • Reconcile payments and maintain inventory and cleanliness of the work environment.
  • Assist families with using the Nemours App and ensure electronic systems are up-to-date.
Job Requirements:
