Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) FLOAT to support ambulatory and specialty clinics in Jacksonville, FL. You will perform patient intake, document clinical information, collect specimens, provide medication support, and assist care teams under physician supervision.

Strong candidates hold CMA or RMA certification, a high school diploma, and 2–4 years of ambulatory care experience. BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• CMA/RMA certification or equivalent required.
• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years ambulatory care experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred; familiarity with ambulatory workflows and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, reconcile meds/allergies, and prepare visit documentation.
• Assist physicians and staff with exams, procedures, screenings, and education materials.
• Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, labeling, and related documentation.
• Provide medication support and injections as directed by site protocols.
• Coordinate follow-up activities, lab/imaging prep, and care-team messages.
• Monitor exam room readiness, supplies, equipment, and infection prevention.
• Identify documentation gaps or workflow issues and escalate to licensed staff when needed.

Job Description Summary

Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) FLOAT performs certified or registered Medical Assistant work that supports timely, coordinated care across ambulatory and specialty practice settings. Work includes patient intake, clinical documentation, specimen handling, medication support, and care team workflow support under the direct supervision of a physician or other licensed provider and within approved clinical protocols, applicable state requirements, and site standards for Medical Assistant work. Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) works under moderate supervision and applies working knowledge of clinical support procedures to complete routine and moderately complex assignments. Decisions impact patient support activities, operational effectiveness, and team outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, reconcile medication and allergy information, and prepare visit documentation for provider review.
• Assist physicians, licensed providers, and licensed clinical staff with exams, procedures, screenings, and patient education materials within established scope and protocols.
• Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, specimen labeling, and related documentation according to quality and safety requirements.
• Perform approved medication support, injection, immunization, treatment, or testing activities only as directed and permitted by site protocols and applicable requirements.
• Coordinate routine follow-up activities, including patient instructions, lab or imaging preparation, prescription refill routing, and care team messages.
• Monitor exam room readiness, supply levels, equipment availability, and infection prevention practices to support daily clinic flow.
• Identify documentation gaps, workflow delays, patient concerns, or clinical support issues and elevate to licensed clinical staff or site leadership when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-4 years of medical assistant, clinical support, or ambulatory care experience.CMA, RMA, or equivalent Medical Assistant certification or registration required.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred; Working knowledge of ambulatory care workflows, patient intake, clinical documentation, point-of-care testing, medication support, and infection prevention.
• Experience using electronic health record systems to document patient information, route messages, and support care team communication.
• Strong communication, organization, and judgment to support patients, providers, and clinical staff in routine and moderately complex situations.

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: $19.00 to $28.50 The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
