Job summary

Patriot Urgent Care in Maryland seeks a Medical Assistant or EMT to support providers and ensure a smooth flow between examination and treatment. This role serves as the liaison between patients and medical staff, with a focus on compassionate, efficient care.

The position requires clinical tasks, data entry in EMR, and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certifications are preferred but not required.
• Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• Two years of clinical experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• We do not accept CNA’s, EMT’s, or PMD’s.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical intake including obtaining patient history, current medications, chief complaint, vital signs and records in EMR.
• Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist providers with procedures.
• Perform diagnostic tests (eye exams, ECG, audiogram, peak flow, etc.).
• Perform DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens with proper chain of custody; prepare for lab shipment.
• Monitor inventory of disposables, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
• Complete medical charting for services rendered and supplies used.

We have an opening for aMedical Assistant or EMTwho provides exceptional support to providers and team to ensure and establish a seamless flow between examination and treatment established. Employees in this role are the liaison between patients and medical providers.

Work Schedule

Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays.

MA / EMT positions may require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts. Access to reliable transportation is required. Mileage is paid for travel that occurs outside of your defined home region.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant(Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred, but not required)
• Nurse (LPN)Must provide proof of current certification.
• Two years of clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Strong customer service and problem-solving / communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR system.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Perform clinical intake including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, obtain vital signs and records information within EMR system.
• Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room.
• Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions.
• Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory. (On-the-job Training)
• Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
• Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.

Hourly Salary Range:Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): $17.00 - $24.00
