Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• Current BCLS with AED certificates.
• Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or SNF setting: 1 year.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation.
• Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Comfort using EMR software with training provided.
• Strong communication and professional interaction with patients and staff.
• HIPAA confidentiality knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician in patient assessment and examination.
• Records patient subjective information and concerns.
• Enters information into the EMR system.
• Checks on patient welfare until exam or procedure begins.
• Assists with completing patient request forms.
• Inspects exam and stock rooms; ensures adequate supplies.
• Performs additional duties as needed within scope of practice.
• May travel to other office locations to assist physicians.
