Job summary

The University of Miami UHealth – Department of Radiation Oncology at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Medical Assistant. The MA will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist medical providers and support patient care in a busy clinic environment.

Under the supervision of licensed physicians, the MA prepares exam rooms, takes vital signs, conducts routine lab tests, assists with procedures, and ensures patient safety and confidentiality while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant program recognized by USDE.
• Active MA certification, or plan to obtain within 12 months as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with examinations and prepare treatment/exam rooms with proper supplies and instruments.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and document results.
• Take vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy and record in patient chart.
• Administer medications as directed by physician and assist in patient mobility.
• Escort and transport patients to various hospital locations.
