Job summary

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant (MA) 1 to support providers by performing multi-skilled clinical tasks and patient care under physician supervision. The MA will assist in examinations, basic procedures, and document care in medical records, maintaining professional standards and patient confidentiality.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, completed MA program, and relevant certifications (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA) with BLS.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Strong communication skills and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to follow physician-directed care and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with physical examinations and prepare exam rooms.
• Take vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and document in medical records.
• Administer medications as directed and assist in patient care activities.
• Escort and transport patients to different hospital locations.
• Demonstrate clinical skills in accordance with policies and procedures.
