Loyal Source is seeking a Medical Assistant in Detroit to perform both administrative and clinical tasks, including vital signs, exam prep, and record maintenance. The role acts as a bridge between examiner and claimant to ensure smooth office operations.

The position offers base pay plus health and welfare fringe benefits, with responsibilities spanning clinical duties and administrative duties such as check-in/out and order entry for diagnostics. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with claimants effectively.
• Strong attention to detail to review claimant records.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with computer systems for EMR.
• Up-to-date BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs (blood pressure and pulse).
• Prepare claimant for examination (ECG testing/PFT).
• Draw blood for lab tests.
• Perform Pulmonary Function Testing.
• Perform Electrocardiogram – uploading for official reading.
• Calibrate equipment (PFT machine daily, AED monthly).
• Chaperone claimant during an examination.
• Check-in/Check-out claimants.
• Order entry for diagnostic testing (labs/sleep study/X-rays/PFTs).
• Review of medical records.
• Answer phone calls and greet claimants.
• Manage clinic flow.
• Maintain medical supplies (order as inventory is low and remove expiring items).
