Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.

• Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment.
• Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
• Prepare exam rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol.
• Schedule appointments for patients and manage room inventories.
• Assist physician with surgical procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, and wound care instructions to patients.
