Job summary

Providence Swedish Health Services in Seattle is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support licensed practitioners and help provide patient care in the assigned clinic. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs for the location.

Required qualifications include graduation or training in medical assisting, Washington MA certification on hire, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school with hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
• Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant with vital signs, injections, and medication administration
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
• 6 months Healthcare experience
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. The MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants Or

• Coursework/Training Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program Or

• Coursework/Training Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or

• Coursework/Training Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration Or

• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification

• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

• 6 months Healthcare experience.

• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
