Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Days, Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 5:00 pm

Location: Monday - Wednesday at 123 E. Main Street, Brevard, NC, and Thursday at 50 Hospital Drive, Suite 2D, Hendersonville. Fridays may be at either office (rotation answering phones).

The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate patient care and follows AdventHealth service standards. Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining clinical, financial, and demographic information, assisting providers during treatments and examinations, and assisting with procedures and medication administration as ordered. Performs office duties such as verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments.

• Assist with screenings per physician orders and accurately record all information at the time of service or results.
• Perform clinical intake according to AHMG policies and procedures.
• Assist with minor procedures related to specialty care.
• Travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs.
• Maintain safety and whole-person care standards.
• Maintain education requirements and demonstrate competency as required.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of practical medical assisting experience and certification from one of the following, or graduate of a medical assisting program:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for CMA
• American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for CMAC
• American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for RMA
• National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for NRCMA
• National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for NCMA
• National Healthcareer Association (“NHA”) for CCMA
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (“ARMA”)

Active American Heart Association BLS certification.

Preferred qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
