Job summary

Paris Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires patient assessments, basic procedures, and strong organizational skills, with a focus on patient safety and care quality. This position is on-site with a rotating day schedule and benefits. Training will be provided for necessary certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking and decisive judgment under pressure.
• Education must include a high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Certifications: CCMA, CMA or RMA must be obtained within 60 days of hire; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and treatments under physician or nurse supervision.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitor patient condition and document care.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies; reorder, stock, clean, troubleshoot.
• Maintain examination areas and support front-office tasks such as registration and scheduling.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

A Medical Assistant who excels in this role performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office:

• Under the supervision of physicians or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Other tasks as requested/assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
• Licenses: Required: CCMA, CMA or RMA Certifications via the AAMA or NHA must be obtained within 60 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire

Schedule: 5x8, Day shift, rotating weekends
