Celebration Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a bilingual Medical Assistant to support obstetric and gynecologic care in a collaborative practice. You will assist providers, manage room readiness, and document encounters in Athena EMR with accuracy and compassion.

The role emphasizes patient safety, clear communication, and sensitivity in women's health, with opportunities to grow clinical skills and contribute to a patient-centered experience across visits and procedures.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or experience in OB/GYN preferred.
• Phlebotomy, vaccine administration, specimen handling and sterile technique.
• Experience with Athena EMR is required or preferred.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and patient safety.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake with vitals, history, meds and allergies (Athena EMR).
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for OB/GYN visits, ultrasounds, and procedures.
• Assist providers during pap smears, IUD insertions, biopsies, and OB/GYN procedures.
• Collect and process urine, blood, and culture specimens per safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate chart documentation and support efficient patient flow.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant in our practice, you will support our providers in delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. You will help ensure that every patient encounter reflects our values of respect, clinical excellence, and individualized care. Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Support

• Conduct patient intake, including vitals, medical history, medications, and allergies, documenting accurately in Athena EMR.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for OB/GYN visits, prenatal care, ultrasounds, procedures, and in-office surgeries.
• Assist providers during pap smears, IUD insertions, biopsies, and OB/GYN specific procedures.
• Collect and process urine, blood, and culture specimens following safety and infection control protocols.
• Support clinical operations through room turnover, sterile instrument handling, and procedure tray preparation.
• Maintain accurate, compliant chart documentation and contribute to seamless patient flow.

Exceptional Patient Experience

• Deliver warm, respectful, and empathetic care, guiding patients through visits and answering questions with professionalism.
• Support patient comfort during sensitive procedures and ensure clarity of instructions and follow up.
• Uphold strict infection prevention standards, including proper PPE and sterilization practices.
• Work closely with clinical and front office staff to support efficient schedules and workflow.
• Assist with special projects and evolving clinical needs as assigned.
• Provide support at other practice locations when needed to ensure adequate staffing coverage.

Basic Qualifications

• Certification or experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably within OB/GYN, with a customer service approach.
• Skilled in phlebotomy, vaccine administration, specimen handling, and sterile technique; adherence to OSHA guidelines.
• Experience with Athena EMR.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional patient service.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in an OB/GYN office.
• One year of experience using Athena EMR.
