Job summary

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program, BLS certification or willingness to obtain, and 1+ year of experience. EMR experience and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or willing to obtain by date of hire.
• 1+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Delivers high-quality patient care through face-to-face, telephone, and electronic contact for examinations, treatment, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedures.
• Collects and documents patient information including vital signs, chief complaints, medication reviews, allergies, and health risk screenings.
• Assists physicians and nursing staff with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other patient care procedures as directed.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies.
• Documents all actions and maintains proper EMR and paper-based documentation for assessments and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans patient rooms and sets up instruments/equipment per protocol, maintaining infection control.
