Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant at our Seymour, IN ambulatory site. The MA will support providers with patient visits, routine labs, referrals, and quality outcomes. Certification must be completed within 6 months of hire, with an MA program credential or a HS diploma plus recent MA experience.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, EPIC EMR documentation, and referrals. Collaborative team environment encouraged.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas, stocking supplies.
• Room patients and maintain provider's caseload flow.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and collect specimens.
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing per protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.

Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider's caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
