Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant onsite at Hoosier School Trust, Indianapolis Eastside. The position supports providers, conducts routine lab tasks, and helps manage patient flow in a busy ambulatory setting.

As MA, you will perform vital signs, specimen collection, room preparation, and care documentation in EPIC, with emphasis on teamwork and patient-centered care in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice.
