A leading healthcare provider is seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to join the Cardiology team. This role allows for independent work and collaboration while ensuring efficient patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with patient visits, managing care coordination, and maintaining clinical areas. Preferred qualifications include training and certification as a Medical Assistant and professional experience.
We are seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to join our Cardiology team. The days will consist of 8-hour shifts between 8:00am-5:00pm, only during the weekdays (between Monday-Friday).
This position will be predominately located at the Portsmouth and Somersworth Cardiology offices with the potential to float to the Dover office.
As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
Assisting during office visits (rooming, EKGs, reconciling medication lists, and updating patient's history and allergies)
Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
Performing the functions of a front desk representative during times when the office is not as busy from a clinical perspective and as directed/assigned.
Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.
We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.
Required:
High School diploma/GED
Either BLS or Annual Manikin training including CPR and AED after 6 months of hire
Strongly Preferred:
Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1-year professional experience
National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT
