Job summary

Straub Benioff Medical Center in Honolulu, part of Hawai‘i Pacific Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Cardiology department. You will perform a wide variety of patient care activities, support physicians and staff, and help deliver compassionate, high-quality health services to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program, and CMA/ABR-OE/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA/CCMA certifications or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
• Current CMA/ABR-OE/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA/CCMA certification or equivalent.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Must complete departmental competency assessment by orientation.

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Cardiology department. Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), OR Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE)from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologist (AMT), OR Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency testing (NCCT), OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Registry of Medical Assistants, OR Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), OR Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card. Must Be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Preferred Experience: Six (6) months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) and/or International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) coding. Experience with electronic medical records.
