Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced ambulatory cardiology practice. The role includes rooming patients, processing refills, and coordinating with RNs to ensure efficient patient care.

Two clinic locations exist (Biddeford and Sanford) with this position primarily based in Biddeford. Sign-on bonuses apply depending on experience, and benefits accompany the competitive pay range stated.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; MA program with clinical hours required or equivalent experience.
• Current BLS certification required; NH NH Med Tech/EMT licenses may apply for NH locations.
• 1 year of clinical Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and manage clinical workflow in ambulatory cardiology.
• Process medication refills and provider paperwork, document care.
• Coordinate with RNs and team to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Support administrative tasks at Biddeford/Sanford locations.

This Medical Assistant (MA) position will provide both clinical and administrative support for a busy ambulatory cardiology practice, with core responsibilities including: Rooming patients, processing medication refills, completing provider paperwork and documentation support; coordinating care and collaboration closely with the RN's. There are two clinic locations: Biddeford and Sanford - this MA position is primarily based in the Biddeford location.

Position Summary: Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant (MA) role functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education:High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
2. License/Certifications:Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
3. Experience:Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

The pay range for themedical assistantposition is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
