Job summary

Great Plains Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses and front desk operations in the Brain and Spine Providers area. The MA will check patients in, record vital signs, review systems, and update medical records in the EMR to ensure complete patient information before physician assessment.

The role includes maintaining supplies and room readiness, assisting with procedures, and documenting care plans. A strong emphasis on accuracy and patient communication is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Medication Aide 40 certification within 6 months of hire, updated every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to AIDET communication when explaining procedures and plans to patients.
• Uses EHR to document vital signs, ROS, medications, history and visit notes.
• Communicates test results and procedure orders to the clinical team.
• Manages supplies, room readiness, sterilization and safety for patient visits.
• Assists physicians and nurses with in-office procedures and medications administration as prescribed.

Education
