Essential Functions

The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to ensure effective patient care. This includes working collaboratively with providers, communicating effectively, and maintaining compliance with legal regulations such as OSHA and HIPAA. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, patient history, blood draws, managing supplies, and health education.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs and patient history.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• Prepare patients, perform screening tests, and assist during exams.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes.
• Coordinate diagnostic studies and maintain medical records.
• Handle patient communication and health coaching.
• Maintain clinical supplies and ensure safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant training or experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
• Experience with geriatric patients is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR systems preferred.
