Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois and Indiana is seeking a bilingual Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Gurnee, IL. The role supports physicians with a range of patient care and administrative tasks in a fast-paced nephrology practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain examination area by preparing and cleaning treatment rooms and medical instruments.
• Interview patients and document basic medical history.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and data collection, including vital signs and medication reconciliation.
• Monitor and communicate patient condition changes, especially with abnormal vital signs.
• Provide patient education as directed by a physician on treatment, diets, medications, and follow-up tests.
• Assist with pharmacy refills and patient callbacks.
• Document all patient care and may perform clerical duties as assigned.

As a Medical Assistant, you will work to provide outstanding care for our patients with kindness and empathy in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of our medical office and to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Practice Manager and/or Physicians.

What You'll Do

• Assist with pharmacy refills and patient callbacks.
• Documents all patient care provided.
• May perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, insurance verification, faxes, patient correspondence, billing, and patient registration.
