Job summary

Job description

General Summary

We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish -speaking required) to support our clinical team. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate clinical documentation, and high-quality patient care, particularly for our Spanish-speaking population.

These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical history in the EMR (e.g., Cerner, Epic)
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures
  • Serve as a Spanish-English Interpreter for patients during visits
  • Coordinate patient care, including referrals, imaging, and follow-ups
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
  • Assist with prior authorizations and insurance verification as needed
  • Maintain compliance with HIPPA and clinical protocols
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
  • Current certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred (specialty experience a plus)
  • Strong EMR proficiency and computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
