Valley Health's VH BERKELEY FAMILY MEDICINE is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced setting. You will perform MA duties, assess patients, and help educate them under supervision in the first shift.

Required are a HS diploma and at least 1 year in a clinical environment, plus BLS certification. Strong communication and patient-care skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a clinical setting.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) required or equivalent.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), performs Medical Assistant specific tasks, and assesses and educates patients.

Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Training in specialty-specific assisting desired

Experience
One year of experience in a clinical setting

Certification & Licensures
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Good communication skills Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply, based on age of the patient served
