Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the EMR, and assist providers to promote efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include front desk duties, scheduling, and ensuring PHI privacy. You will work under supervision, maintain a safe patient environment, and adhere to UH policies and procedures while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with clinical procedures is preferred.
• Excellent patient-facing communication required.
• Ability to document in electronic medical records (EMR).

• Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
